BakerBaird: two countries, two awards
BakerBaird Communications scooped two awards at this year's prestigious Chartered Institute of Public Relations PRide ceremonies, one in the Midlands and one north of the border in Scotland.
Stuart Baird won Gold as the Independent Practitioner of the Year for the Midlands, while work with clients NHS Education for Scotland led to a Silver award for best use of Graphic Design/Photography in PR. The two gongs come just one year after clinching Gold for Public Sector Campaign of the Year at the CIPR's Midlands ceremony.
The CIPR citation stated:
"The judges were exceptionally impressed by Stuart's experience and clear enthusiasm for the PR industry. Clearly dedicated to supporting local PR's in the Midlands, Stuart demonstrates a wealth of knowledge and expertise, which he strives to continuing adding to. The judges liked Stuart's outlook of believing he's as excellent as his last excellent job and that he's always a work in progress. Stuart provided a great example of the passion an independent practitioner should have."
Work with NHS Education for Scotland has included digital content marketing and using graphic design to help recruit medics into the country as well as educate and raise standards across its 168,000 strong workforce.
Stuart said: "While a personal award is always very welcome, seeing a client's staff recognised for the hard work and dedication they put in really is a privilege. The NHS has wonderful, talented people who are passionate about making a difference to peoples' lives. Excellent communication is needed to make sure we attract and train the right staff as well as care for patients."
The CIPR awards received over 1,000 entries received from public relations teams, consultancies and individuals across the UK.
